ta ya (viet nam) electric wire & cable joint stock company won the 2013 national quality gold award in vietnam, making it the first foreign-owned cable manufacturer to receive this honor. the award ceremony took place in the morning of march 16 at hanoi city ministry of defense hall, where deputy prime minister vu duc dam personally presented this award to chairman shen shang-pang.
the national quality award is a highly respected event in vietnam; not only was the award ceremony broadcast on tv, several prominent figures including deputy prime minister vu duc dam, vice president nguyen thi doan, and prime minister's technology and craftsmanship appointee huang wenfeng were also present at the ceremony. to qualify for entry, a business must have won the gold award in a provincial quality award. the national quality award is divided into two main sectors: manufacturing and service. each sector is further divided between large corporation and small and medium enterprise.
